Mark the beginning of Lent with the Newman Center community and other Christians by praying, listening to the word of God, and being marked with ashes. There are several opportunities to celebrate Ash Wednesday:

- Ecumenical service on campus (Williams Center MPR)
7:30pm - Ash Wednesday service at the Newman Center

And if you cannot make it to either of these services, feel free to stop by the Newman Center anytime after 1pm to receive the mark of ashes.

Sunday Mass:  7:30pm when school is in session

(Spring 2014:  every Sunday from Jan 26 to May 11, except for Mar 16 [Spring Break] and Apr 20 [Easter Sunday])

All are welcome!

The Newman Center is Catholic campus ministry serving the SUNY-Fredonia community. We are a people who worship, pray, and serve together – heralding the presence of the Risen Christ in the world. The Center is also a building – of worship, of fellowship, of comfort, of searching.

We believe that there is more to life than meets the eye – that there is an Ultimate Mystery beyond all existence, who embraces us and draws us out of the mires of human selfishness and misery into abundant life in Christ, who is the absolute Mystery in human form, and who teaches us what it means to be fully and abundantly human.

We welcome all who seek truth; who seek peace; who seek comfort; who seek direction; who seek life. Worship with us, pray with us, serve with us, socialize with us. Stop by the Center anytime, by yourself or with friends, to talk, to meet with a minister, to study, to socialize, to pray.

We are located on Temple Street, one block from the LoGrasso Hall entrance to campus, in the direction of downtown Fredonia.
